Product Description

The silicon carbide graphite crucible is made by adding silicon carbide particles of varying content to the raw material of the graphite crucible. For example, the content is 50%, 24%, and other different content. Of course, it can also be based on the different requirements of customers. Custom-made graphite crucibles with varying amounts of silicon carbide.

Silicon carbide crucible is mainly used in metallurgy, casting, machinery, chemical industry and other industrial sectors, is widely used in alloy tool steel smelting and non-ferrous metal and its alloy melting, and has better technical and economic effects.

Production Process

> Prefabrication: The crucible prefabrication is braided with all carbon fiber, and the volume density of the crucible prefabrication is 0.4-0.6g/cm3.

> Curing: curing the crucible preform with furfuryl ketone resin.

> Density: Bitumen is repeatedly impregnated with carbonized dense crucible precast until the volume density of the crucible precast reaches 1.3g/cm3-1.4g/cm3.

> Purification: Put the prefabricated crucible into the high temperature furnace after purification, the shape is trimmed to make the carbon crucible blank.

> Silicon immersion: Put the carbon crucible blank into the silicon immersion agent for 12-24h naturally.

> Carbonization: the soaked carbon crucible blank into the carbonization furnace carbonization, carbonization temperature of 900-1000ºC.

> Repeat steps 5 and 6 until the carbon crucible blank density reaches 1.5-1.6g/cm3.

> Forming: grinding and polishing the internal and external surface of the crucible, that is, silicon carbide composite crucible products.

Use and Storage Method

>  The crucible should be stocked in the dry situation.

> Carry the crucible lightly.

>  Warm the crucible in the drying machine or near the furnace. The warming temperature should be up to 500ºC.

>  The crucible should be put under the furnace month flat.

>  When put the metal into the crucible, you should take the crucible capacity as your reference. If the crucible is too full, it will be damaged by expansion.

>  The clamps shape need as that of crucible. Avoid the concentrate stressed destroy of the crucible.

> Clean the crucible regularly and lightly.

>  The crucible should be put in the center of the furnace and leave some distance between the crucible and furnace.

>  Turn the crucible once in one week and this way can keep  the service life.

>  The flame should not touch the crucible directly.

>  24 hours constant use will make crucibles have longer service life.

The smelt soup in the crucible should be cleared out when the furnace stop working, in order to avoid molten soup solidification and will be expanded when fire to reheat, and affect the service life of crucible or even burst.


The graphite crucible should be protected from moisture. The warehouse for storing graphite crucibles should be dry and ventilated, and the temperature should be kept between 5ºC~25ºC, and the relative humidity should be 50-60%. The crucible must not be stored on brick soil or cement floor to avoid moisture.

Packaging & Shipping
In order to protect the glaze layer of the crucible, handling crucible must be very careful, to avoid knocking, collision or falling, we can't put the crucible on the ground and rolling to transport. Once the glaze layer of crucible is damaged, it will lead to oxidation and aging of crucible easily in the process of use. The crucible should be handled carefully in a padded cart (or other suitable conveyer).

Our company use rope, rubber, moisture-proof plastic paper, shockproof to pack the crucible, and according to customers' needs,  we can customize wooden cases, export packaging cartons, paper tubes, etc., to ensure that the crucible wouldn't be damaged in  transit.
