Spheroidizing ( treatment) ladles are mainly used for pouring operations in foundry industry workshops. After receiving the molten iron in front of the furnace, it is transported to the casting mold by a crane for pouring. Through spheroidizing treatment, the quality and performance of castings can be significantly improved, defects reduced, and service life extended.
 

Spheroidizing (ductile iron) ladles for spheroidizing molten iron to improve the quality and performance of castings. Spheroidizing is to add spheroidizing agents to molten iron to precipitate carbon in the molten iron in the form of spheroidal graphite, thereby improving the mechanical properties and processing properties of castings.

Types and characteristics of spheroidizing processes:

> Imping method: Commonly used pit-type or dam-type spheroidizing ladles are suitable for treating 0.5~3 tons of molten iron, and the best effect is at a temperature of 1400~1430ºC.


> Cover ladle method: Install a cover-type tundish on the impingement method ladle to reduce the burning loss of magnesium.

> Transfer ladle method: The reaction chamber made of graphite clay has a high magnesium utilization rate and is suitable for treating molten iron with a high sulfur content.

> Pressure magnesium method: The spheroidizer is placed in the bell jar, which is suitable for treating a large amount of molten iron.

> In-mold spheroidizer: A reaction chamber is set in the casting system, which is suitable for low-sulfur molten iron.

> Sealed flow method: Flow through the reaction chamber under sealed conditions to absorb spheroidizing elements.

> Wire feeding spheroidizing method: The cored wire containing spheroidizer is fed into the molten iron through an automatic wire feeding machine, which is suitable for high-efficiency production.

Through these methods, spheroidizing treatment can be effectively carried out to improve the quality and performance of castings.
